ADAM LYKO, MD

BOARD CERTIFIED IN ENDOCRINOLOGY 

 

Dr. Adam Lyko is a Board-Certified Endocrinologist. He received his medical training at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed his medical degree in 2001. He completed internal medicine training at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 2004 and served one year as chief resident at the Jerry L Pettis Veterans Administration Medical Center. He then joined the Loma Linda General Medicine Group and worked in primary care until 2009 when he began endocrine fellowship training at the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Medical Center and Cedar Sinai Medical Center. He completed endocrine fellowship training in 2011 and moved to the Spokane area to work in the Department of Endocrinology at Rockwood Clinic. In 2018, he opened the Selkirk Endocrinology clinic in Post Falls, Idaho, where he resides. Dr. Lyko is passionate about helping people improve their endocrine health. When not at the office he enjoys spending time with his family, camping, paddle boarding, computer programming, working out, and playing the piano. 

   
   
 

PATRICK REED, PA-C

 

Patrick Reed earned his certification to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) after graduating from the University of Washington PA program in 2012. After living in Spokane for the last 16 years, he was fortunate to be able to stay in the local area after graduating. He has been active in several areas of medical care including with older adults with complex heart disease, people with multiple medical disorders in internal medicine and family medicine, and most recently with kids, teens, and young adults with diabetes.

 

Patrick grew up in Kennewick, Washington and was very involved in sports and music as a youth. While working on his basic science coursework, he also graduated with a music degree from the University of Idaho Lionel Hampton School of Music in 2003. Patrick has been involved in the diabetes camping community for over 25 years in the Spokane and North Idaho area, and was invited to be a counselor and then on the staff of directors at Joslin Camp in Boston. He recently served a one year term as the Medical Director for the inaugural Camp STIX Adventure Camp.

 

When not at the office, Patrick loves to be with his wife, young kids, and extended family. He enjoys hiking, watching or helping with baseball or dance, working on home improvement projects, playing music, being on one of the area lakes or campgrounds with a group of friends, or watching football.

   
 

KATIE HALL, PA

 

Katie Hall is a board-certified physician assistant. She received an undergraduate degree in health science from Lee University in Tennessee. She completed a physician assistant program at James Madison University in Virginia in 2005. She worked in urgent care until 2011 when she transitioned into the specialty of endocrinology. She spent nine years working for Augusta Health Diabetes and Endocrinology in Fishersville, VA. She treated adults with a wide variety of endocrine disorders. Katie joined Selkirk Endocrinology in 2020 after moving to Idaho to live closer to family. She is excited to continue serving patients in the field of endocrinology in the Northwest. When not working Katie enjoys family life with her husband and three children, long conversations over a cup of coffee, and trying to foster an appreciation for camping.

 

 

 

 

 

LYNN A. KOHLMEIER, M.D.

 

Dr Kohlmeier is the medical director of Spokane Osteoporosis and Endocrinology, and has a monthly metabolic bone and parathyroid clinic with Katie Hall, PA at Selkirk Endocrinology in PostFall, ID as well as an endocrine clinic with Lincoln Hospital & Clinics in Davenport, WA. She is involved in clinical research focusing on osteoporosis treatment and hypoparathyroidism with the Arthritis Northwest Research Center in Spokane, WA.

 

Dr Kohlmeier went to Yale for undergrad, Stanford for medical school, and the New England Deaconess Hospital at Harvard for her Internal Medicine residency. She returned to Stanford for her endocrine fellowship, and Harvard for her post-doc training in metabolic bone disease at the Brigham & Women s Hospital where she received an ASBMR Young Investigator Award for research on the calcium-sensing receptor.

 

Dr Kohlmeier is founder and medical director of the virtual West Coast Bone Health CME TeleECHO: Spokane Strides For Strong Bones, and Chair of the medical advisory board for the Hypoparathyroid Association.

 

With program coordinator, Marla Emde, she co-founded and is medical director of the non-profit Strides for Strong Bones which provides free bone density screening and osteoporosis education throughout the Northwest, organizing community events like the triathlons: Westplains Wunderwoman and TRI for Your Bones from 2007 to 2018, and since 2010 the annual Strides for Strong Bones Osteoporosis Awareness Walk/Run.

 

Dr Kohlmeier is founder of Strong Start DXA Reports which provides quality bone density analysis and reports for rural DXA sites, and is a reviewer for the Journal of Clinical Densitometry, Metabolism, Osteoporosis International, and the Journal of the Endocrine Society.
